Methodological Problems in Islamic History Studies

As the Boğaziçi University Islamic Studies Club (BİSAK), we organized a conference titled “Methodological Problems in Islamic History Studies” with the participation of our esteemed instructor Zahit Atçıl. This event was held on Wednesday, November 25, at NH103, discussing methodological challenges in studying Islamic history, concepts, and approaches to consider in historiography.
The conference addressed how Islamic history should be studied and which sources and methods should be prioritized. Additionally, the development and transformation of Islamic civilization were evaluated, and the existence of a “golden age” in Islamic history was debated.
