Islamic Diplomacy: An Introduction to the Prophetic Tradition

English

As the Boğaziçi University Islamic Studies Club (BİSAK), we organized a conference titled “Islamic Diplomacy: An Introduction to the Prophetic Tradition” with the participation of Omar Salha from the University of London. This event was held on Friday, October 23, at NH305, discussing the concept of ethical diplomacy in Islam and how it can be applied in daily life.

Justice and equality are among the fundamental principles of Islam. The conference addressed the Prophet's (peace be upon him) diplomatic approach, methods for peaceful solutions, and how to be just in interpersonal relationships. The individual and social impacts of Islamic diplomacy were discussed, offering participants new perspectives on how these values can be applied in the modern world.

The verse from the Qur'an, Surah Al-Hujurat (49:9), which states, “If two parties among the believers fall into a dispute, make peace between them... Act justly. Indeed, Allah loves those who are just,” served as a central reference for the event.
