As part of the conference series organized by the Boğaziçi Islamic Studies Community, this week’s guest speaker was Vahdettin Işık. In his talk titled “The Tension Between Modernization and Islamization in Turkey” Işık examined the friction between Turkey’s modernization process and Islamization.
Covering both historical background and contemporary reflections, this conference provided participants with valuable perspectives. The in-depth analysis of the social, cultural, and political impacts of modernization in Turkey was followed with great interest by the audience.
